Currently openfire only allows the use of individual JID for user permissions in group chat. The addition of LDAP groups would greatly enhance this process.

I agree... Ideally, it would be best to have permissions based on groups, however an easy compromise may just be having the ability to add large quantities of users as members by LDAP group.
