High CPU usage with Red5

We’re running Openfire on a Windows 2K3 r2 x64 box with dual quad core. We’re experiencing high CPU usage. The overall CPU values are between 30-35% Some of the cpu’s cores are flat out 100%

Whenever we remove the Red5plugin the CPU values falls to much lower values<typically around 3-5%>

We’ve reviewed the openfire debug logs to find these entries,

Any suggestions are appreciated

We’ve updated to Openfire 3.6.3 and the High CPU useage continues;

The ‘debug’ logs reveal Openfire testing Connections

2009.01.12 19:54:56 045019 (01/05/00) - Connection #4 tested: OK

Any suggestions are appreciated

Good,

For a second I thought I was going crazy. I been trying to figure why in the world after running the same service I have for the past year.

That the cpu usage has spiked up so high. Its not to a point where its crippling anything or slowing down the system and user activities.

But, it is very odd. I’ll see after we setup Red5 how things hold out from there. But if it gets bad, I wont hesitate to remove it. But I would

be interested as well to hear any input on this.

I hope you do remember that the core Red5 server is still in beta at version 0.7

It will not be optimized until version 0.9, so please set your expectations accordingly
