Asterisk-IM 1.4.0 for Openfire 3.4.1 released

Hallo,

i have problem with Asterisk-IM 1.4.0 / Openfire 3.4.1.

My previously configurations:

  • Asterisk-IM 1.3.1 / Openfire 3.3.2 - everything worked well

  • Asterisk-IM 1.3.1 / Openfire 3.4.1 - jabber clients cannot login - i fixed this by disabling Asterisk-IM

  • Asterisk-IM 1.4.0 / Openfire 3.4.1 - jabber clients can login with enabled Asterisk-IM but when i click on “Asterisk-IM” in Administration Console nothing is happend. After some time i can look to “Asterisk-IM” in Administration Console but asterisk server has gray icon (not green like before).

Info log:

2007.11.03 07:34:58 Initializing Asterisk Manager connection

2007.11.03 07:34:58 Connecting to 172.22.1.7:5038

2007.11.03 07:34:58 Connected via Asterisk Call Manager/1.0

2007.11.03 07:34:58 Successfully logged in

Is this some known bug with Asterisk-IM 1.4.0 / Openfire 3.4.1 or how can i fix this?

Thanks.

Well the log looks fine and does not explain why you don’t see the green icon. The green icon indicates a successful connection to Asterisk and thats what the logs say…

Please shutdown Openfire an restart it and post the full logs as far as they relate to Asterisk-IM, maybe that provides some insight.

On asterisk i can see connection between servers, unfortunately there is nothing else in logs related to asterisk-im ;(

Active Internet connections (w/o servers)

Proto Recv-Q Send-Q Local Address Foreign Address State

tcp 0 75 asterisk:5038 openfire:47837 ESTABLISHED

I attach my asterisk-im config.

Been using Asterisk IM since the 1.0.x releases, and absolutely love how well it integrates with Openfire. I do have one question though, more of a feature request than anything else.

Openfire 3.4.x now has the SIP plugin that allows for direct registration with a SIP proxy or PBX, and along with Active Directory integration, gives me presence, click to dial of any phone number tied to the account, and a very slick interface. I still prefer Asterisk IM though as it provides a way for us to show presence with our desk phones.

If there would be any way to allow for A/D integration to give Asterisk-IM the ability to one-click dial from Spark, that would be great. I’m not much of a programmer, mainly dabble in PHP, but if I could help in any way, I’d be happy to.

Great plugin, thanks for all you’ve done already!

Wes

I have the same problem.

Also the cpu of the linux server goes to 99%.

Openfire

3.4.1 +

Asterisk-IM 1.3.1 works ok

Sorry, but it d’ont works, now the users can’t log on with spark

I confirm same behavior.

If your users can’t log in you are probably using Asterisk-IM 1.3.x with Openfire 3.3.x.

Make sure there are no things left from the old version and that you actually use Asterisk-IM 1.4.0 with Openfire 3.4.1

Asterisk-IM 1.4.0 with Openfire 3.4.1 don’t works.

It was my firts try, but the openfire server goes to 99% cpu and I must disable the asterisk-im.

Stefan, I can report you the following:

Openfire 3.3.3 with Asterisk IM 1.3.x and Asterisk 1.4.11 works fine.

Openfire 3.4.1 with Asterisk IM 1.4.0 and Asterisk 1.2.10 works fine.

Openfire 3.4.1 with Asterisk IM 1.4.0 and Asterisk 1.4.11 does not work at all. I have the same problem that the other users in this thread.

I hope this can help you.

Thanks

Another question.

Can I make call with Spark with I’m using Asterisk IM ? Did I undestand it correctly ?

I was trying to use SIP Phone plugin to do this kind of stuff.

Regards,

Openfire 3.4.1 + Asterisk-IM 1.3.1/1.4.0 + Asterisk 1.2.10 does not work for me.

There is other thing I discovered:

yesterday, the connection to my asterisk server in Asterisk IM is grey (no way to turn green).

Like magic, this morning turns green. So I remove and add again, and it returns to grey… And I can’t test it…

Did you discover something or the problem persist ???

Now, If I click in the Asterisk-IM label, my browser tries to open the page and nothing happens.

The problem persist.

Hello.

Did you find something about the problems related in this thread ?

Thanks

I was having the same issues with Asterisk 1.4.14, Asterisk-IM 1.4, and Openfire 3.4.1.

I made two changes in asterisk’s manager.conf:

writetimeout = 10000

read = system,call,log,verbose,command,agent,user,config

write = system,call,log,verbose,command,agent,user,config

for the user and the problems went away. From there the permissions can be reduced down to “system, call” I believe.

I suspect a permissions issue that rejecting the asterisk-im thread resulting in an infinite loop.

It works!! Thanks.

Works. Thanks a lot.
