Unlike prior releases of SparkWeb, SparkWeb 0.9 is not attached to the Openfire Enterprise plugin. As such it's going to be using its own version numbering scheme, and is packaged in new ways.
Versioning
We consider 1.0 of the new SparkWeb to be the first release from the new open source repository. Since this one is still coming from our internal repository, it's called 0.9. This is purely a naming convention thing, and it's exactly equivalent to what was going to be called 3.5.1.
Packaging
There will be two packages of SparkWeb; one a .war file that can be deployed easily from app servers (including openfire's jetty), the other a folder with a static html file that can be dropped into any web server. Configuration can (finally!) be done via the instructions at http://www.igniterealtime.org/community/docs/DOC-1400.
Currently only the static html file distribution is available; I'll get to the .war in a bit.
the dubbel server name has been fixed was just not refreshing!Working perfect
hi david,
thanks for this release.
i've uploaded your release and noticed that there are still some issues:
+ Web Accessibility
using safari web browser under osx leopard, everything is running fine. using firefox under windows, everything is running fine! Using any other combination of os / browser nothing really works (e.g. login, logout broken)
+ secure Connector
Using the standard socket-connector on port 5222 or http connector, everything works fine, but using secure connection with socket (5223) or https, a connection was initiated without the ability to receive any messages. furthermore the contact using sparkweb is suddenly located twice on native clients, like spark. any idea? (sparkweb is hosted on ssl enabled webserver)
FYI: we are running latest openfire, spark and sparkweb
Works like a charm, what are the advanced parameters for the skin changes for the logo etc? I have the compiled CSS working with the fade.
Really nice interface! That`s what i have been looking for. But i cant login nor create a account - "not authorized".
The warn.log tells me: "2008.05.09 12:03:31 Closing session due to incorrect hostname in stream header. Host: OLD-DOMAIN.tld. Connection: org.jivesoftware.openfire.net.SocketConnection@16483dc socket: Socket[addr=/80.237.140.94,port=35351,localport=5269] session: null"
This is strange, because i first installed OF under the domain "OLD-DOMAIN.TLD" and after some thime i changed it into "A-NEW-DOMIAN-NAME.tld". Everything is working fine except sparkweb. I don`t know where the "OLD-DOMAIN.TLD" comes from?
Any suggestions? Thanks!
if you just download the sparkweb.zip unzip open sparkweb.html change servername to the domain name of your openfire.Save file as index.html copy sparkweb to your htdoc or webapps of webserver then http://yournameserverdomain.org:port#/sparkweb/
Right. That`s the way i`ve tried it!
First config:
server: "server-domain.tld",
connectionType: "socket",
port: "5222",
autoLogin: "false"
- It appears: Not authorized. Please try again.
Second config:
server: "server-domain.tld",
connectionType: "http",
port: "5222",
autoLogin: "false"
- Nothing happend.
I`ve also tried my http-bind port 7070 and port 9090 both socket/http but in this case sparkweb aren`t accessible.
Additionally i tried this workaround found in the forum:
server: "server-domain.tld",
location: window.location.href,
connectionType: "https",
port: "7443",
autologin: "false",
policyFileURL: "xmlsocket://server-domain.tld:5229"
- Same result as second config if i try to log in.
Your not alone. I cant get mine to work either and even though I have changed the servername it remains ignites url rather then mine. I have cleared my cache as well.
I run my sparkweb in apache tomcat connect only threw port 5222 I used the html file in the sparkweb.zip and did not use the info link.I us no http bind
my install took all 2.5 mins to do.I have also run in apache2 server both where first time setup and both worked very well no problems at all
From what source file do you installed the sparkweb application in youre tomcat? I only downloaded the sparkweb.zip folder and changed the settings. I am confused about my problem why it woun`t connect.
Yeahh we got the same problem too..
i cant connect.. even i change anything with regards to connection
Just FYI this release is quite a bit behind the source code trunk. Try compiling a copy of the live trunk (which gets updated nearly daily) and see how it goes.
I had some "not authorized" problems: Solved by opening port 5229 in firewall.
ARGH! I finally fixed my login problem! I was wondering why sparkweb doen't work within http. I never intended that i have the Client Connection Security on required. Set them to not required and it's working like a charm! doh ![]()
But there is still an issue with Firefox 2.0.0.14. With Firefox i get "not authorized" but with IE 7 or Opera 9 it's working ... strange bug.
What do you mean Set them to not Required? i only got 3 options optional, required and custom under custom there are option old ssl method and tls method..
so what did you do?
Hello thank you very much for the sparkweb.I just unziped and copy to my apache server and logged first time nice work.I have changed the server name in the sparkweb.html to my domain but for some reason that I cant fined there is my domain as the default and ingiterealtime.org is still on the pull down in the login page witch is ok by me for it to be there.I was toled that you dont have public registrations and logins.
