This is a simple plugin that sends a message to a user as soon as the user logs in. There is no configuration interface for this plugin, just install it and modify a few properties on the Openfire Console. Editable properties include:
plugin.motd.skipUsers : A comma seperated list of users not to send the motd to
plugin.motd.subject : The subject used when sending the motd. On some clients this will not be seen.
plugin.motd.message : The message body of the motd.
This plugin was written with legal warnings in mind.

Not really. I havnt used this plugin for a long time, so it has not been tested on modern versions. Ill take a peek at it later this week.
I was pointed to some similar plugins by ryang: http://version2software.com/software.html
(it's the same discussed in this article http://www.igniterealtime.org/support/articles/motd_plugin.jsp)
Hi,
any idea why motd is not working on a freshly installed 3.3.2 (running on a embedded DB). Offline messages are working, but no motd is showing after a login.
Thanks
