This document could use an editorial hand to clean-up/consolidate the various suggested methods into a single set of intructions.

An obvious point that has not been empasized sufficiently is that there is NO trigger mechanism in the management UI to initiate a s2s session. The trigger is the Spark (or other IM) client and solely at the point of adding a new contact or trying to chat to a previously established contact.
