This is really a pleasant surprise for me I have been using wildfire from 2005 and have seen the changes in it from last 6 months or so I did not check your site for updates but when I did I was surprised. I just wanted to say that let it be openfire or wildfire nothing will change the way it works it is number one XMPP server

Thanks for bringing out this software

[...] Jive Software CEO David Hirsh was up next, apologizing first for using Powerpoint but then using the event to announce a name change for the company’s open source IM project, from WildFire to OpenFire. As Hirsh warmed up he convincingly argued that IM was the right platform on which to add voice and data capability, and said SIP and Jingle support will be among OpenFire’s next steps.
[...] For those looking for more context about the name change, see my original blog entry and Greg’s update. Making the full transition to the new name is going to be a long and painful process. First we’ll tag everything as “Openfire, formerly Wildfire” and then will gradually transition to just using the Openfire name. We truly appreciate everyone’s help, especially with the huge list of name ideas. I’m eager to hear what you all think of the name name!
